The European Space Agency (ESA) has selected Syntony to provide user demonstration receivers for the LEO-PNT project As a member of the consortium led by Thales Alenia Space, Syntony will play a key role in advancing global navigation technologies.

Syntony GNSS is looking for Embedded Software Development Engineers in this context to strengthen its teams.

 

What you’ll accomplish with Syntony GNSS

You will join the software development department for the receiver product range to develop innovative applications for the rail, space, or aeronautics sector requiring high-level performance for demanding environments.

You will oversee the ‘TEST’ competence center within the department which covers the testing needs throughout our development process from unit tests to the validation test bench.

 

The missions that will be entrusted to you

• You design the technical solutions to meet these needs
• You are responsible for the implementation of solutions and coordinate the work of other engineers as needed,
• You Participate in the technical activities of the test tool development cycle
• Ensure a technological watch to be part of a continuous improvement approach.

 

The technical skills we are looking for

• C/C++ coding in an embedded context;
• Knowledge of development environments such as ClearCase, Gitlab, VectorCAST, or Rational Test
• knowledge of the following operating systems: Linux, RTOS, PikeOs, or bare metal development;
• Methodology: continuous integration, UML, quality standard: ISO 9001
• Experience in software engineering (software quality repository, code coverage tool, and traceability)
• Experience in the field of GNSS is a plus.

 

About you

With a Bac+5 degree in computer science or electronics, you have at least 5 years of experience in software development and have participated in HW-SW design and integration tasks in the field of embedded

What you’ll accomplish with Syntony GNSS

You will join the Hardware development department which designs electronic boards for GNSS receivers and constellation simulators in the SYNTONY range.

 

The missions that will be entrusted to you

• Development and study of analog, digital, and radio frequency electronic systems and boards
• Choice of components, study, and entry of schematics.
• Drafting of technical files (including definition files) according to ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Tracking of the Routing and board assembly phases
• Supplier management
• System Integration
• Pro-active participation in the development of skills and know-how

 

The technical skills we are looking for

• Function Design in Analog and Radio Frequency Electronics
• Follow-up of Electromagnetic Compatibility tests such as CE approval.
• Choice of critical components and Drafting of technical definition files
• Experience in FPGA specification, design, development, and verification is a plus
• Knowledge of GNSS appreciated
• Fluency in English required

 

About you

Graduated with a Bac +5, you have at least 3 years of experience in Hardware and Firmware development of projects/products implementing complex architectures. You want to work in an international environment and have a good command of English. In this context and to strengthen its teams, Syntony GNSS is looking for a DevOps Engineer M/F.

 

What you’ll accomplish with Syntony GNSS

You will join the cloud and mobile application development department to develop innovative positioning applications requiring high performance for demanding environments.

 

The missions that will be entrusted to you

• Develop and evolve micro-services and ensure their deployment on the Kubernetes platform or ‘on-premise’ (editor’s note: at customers’ sites) depending on the product roadmap.
• Organization and analysis of data access techniques, particularly regarding security and performance (potentially large number of connections).
• you will work on software development tools currently being deployed to evolve practices towards ‘continuous integration’ (Gitlab CI/CD, code coverage, integration testing, etc.)

 

The technical skills we are looking for

• Cloud architecture & backend development;
• Microservices & APIs Rest,
• Go language development desirable
• Verification (on-target integration and validation in a real environment), Awareness of CI/CD principles and “devops” culture (Infra. as code etc.)
• Database Systems: NoSQL Databases: MongoDB, Cassandra, etc … SQL Database: PostgreSQL, MySQL
• Authentication and secure protocols (HTTPS, SSL/TLS, SSH, etc.);
• Docker & Kubernetes environments
• Operating System: Linux, Windows
• A good command of oral and writing English.

With a Bac+5 degree in computer science, you have 3 years of experience in a similar position, which has allowed you to develop your analytical skills to take stock of the appropriate web development technologies and to justify the choices.

You will join the project department that coordinates the development of specific products for a project within the engineering department.

 

The missions that will be entrusted to you

• Supervise the technical part of responses to calls for tenders on projects
• Contribute to the drafting of the proposal and validate the contractual scope with the client
• Monitor and manage the project (planning, dashboard, RAF, risks, milestone meetings, etc.) with the support of the Technical Manager of the corresponding product
• Validate project deliverables
• Develop project plans and the management structure (PMAQ, PDEV, etc.)
• Managing customer relations
• Managing flat-rate subcontracting
• Compile financing files according to the ‘counters’ (GSA, FUI, etc …)
• Manage risks and opportunities

 

The technical skills we are looking for

• With a Bac +5 degree, you have 5 years of experience in project management and development using hardware and software components.
• Knowledge of hardware and software development methods
• Master project management tools
• Conduct exchanges with multiple high-level interlocutors, co-contracting, and a network of partners
• Establish and control the contractual requirements of the subcontractor and the client
• Fluency in technical and business English

• in partnership with system experts and hardware experts, you define the most efficient software implementation;
• you participate in the integration of the developments of the function into the system and then on the hardware platform;

The technical skills we are looking for

2 – Context of the mission

SYNTONY continues to grow in the field of GNSS receivers. An ambitious product plan is defined on 3 axes:

• A multi-frequency GNSS SDR receiver for applications requiring high performance in terms of: accuracy, resistance to interference and decoy
• A receiver dedicated to IOT applications: combining a patented design with very low power consumption
• A unique confined environment location system (called SubWAVE)

In this context, you will join the team dedicated to the SubWAVE product – which works in synergy with Syntony’s other products – with the objective of industrializing the product to allow it to be deployed on a large scale.

 

3 – Objectives

The mission includes:

• Development and study of analog, digital, and radio frequency electronic systems and boards
• Choice of components, study, and entry of drawings
• FPGA Design & Development
• Drafting of technical files (including definition files) according to ISO 9001 quality standards
• System Integration
• Pro-active participation in the development of skills and know-how

 

4 – Experience

Graduated with a Bac +5 equivalent or PhD, you have completed at least a 6-month internship in companies on practical subjects, and/or 1 or 2 years of active experience in hardware and firmware development of projects/products implementing complex architectures.

Passionate about design, you have a good culture of new technologies.

 

5 – Technical skills

You have knowledge of the development of electronic systems and boards, and are passionate about cutting-edge technologies and technical challenges.

And you have skills in the following areas:

• Analog Electronics
• Radiofrequency
• Electromagnetic Compatibility
• Digital Electronic Design and Development
• Writing technical and validation reports
• Drafting of technical definition files
• Experience in FPGA specification, design, development, and verification is a plus

Knowledge of GNSS is appreciated

Fluency in English is required
