Spoofing is an attack consisting in bribing a receiver by emitting very realistic GNSS signals. This results in having the receiver considering spoofed signals as genuine, and therefore manipulated by the attackers.
Contrary to jamming, spoofing is a smooth and complex attack, where the target’s ignorance of being attacked is crucial.
An attack can be perpetrated by one or several spoofers, increasing the level of complexity for both emitting and reveal the attack.
However, counter measures against spoofing can be taken to ensure integrity of the computed signals, with the help of multi-antenna receivers, like CRPA.
Even more, CRPA displays can locate the origin of the attack, and filter the signals received to focus only on genuine GNSS signals from satellites and enable safe & reliable positioning, navigation, and timing.
